What’s the Difference Between CrossFit and a Regular Gym

Amanda Padilla pull up

At CrossFit Reverb we put emphasis on functional movements, high intensity, and constant variation, which develops more physical skills and yields more results in less time.

At a regular gym where you might hit the machines and weights for a bit before finishing with some cardio on the treadmill, you’re building some strength, muscle volume, and some cardio/respiratory endurance.  (Which is great and 100% better than sitting on the couch.)

At CrossFit Reverb, you will develop all 10 general physical skills together: cardio/respiratory endurance, strength, stamina, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. This turns you into a well rounded athlete (remember, playing with your grandkids, aka “life”, counts as a sport).

At a regular gym, you might have your chest/tri’s day, your back/bi’s day, and your leg day routine that you cycle through each week.  Your body adapts quickly and you might hit a plateau in results.

At CrossFit Reverb, you will rarely ever repeat the same workout.  Every day is a new mix of time domains, weight domains, and movement patterns, which means it’s a fresh mental challenge and a fresh challenge for your body, which never stops adapting.

At a regular gym, it might be hard to push yourself to your true potential when you’re working out on your own. Some gyms even prohibit it with a “lunk alarm.”

At CrossFit Reverb, whether you do personal training or group classes, you will have a coach who knows you guiding you through each workout.  You’ll be pushing to the right level for maximum results, while adhering to proper technique.

The difference between CrossFit Reverb and the regular gym is here you’ll get great results for a long time and be looking, feeling, and performing like never before!
