Wednesday Spotlight: Kyle K!

Kyle has been loving his first couple months at Reverb – and he recently got his first ring muscle up!

Let’s hear it from him:

What were you doing for fitness before Reverb?

Before Reverb, I was doing a lot of things. Running, yoga, lifting on my own, and group HIIT classes. 

What was the problem you wanted to solve that made you want to join Reverb?

Looking for a community to lift with. I work from home, so it’s great to be able to see other people during the day!

And I wanted my fitness to be well balanced.

What kind of changes have you seen?

I’ve been here 4 months and I already feel much more confident in a variety of movements. It’s fun to learn the gymnastics movements that I didn’t think someone my age could learn – like a rope climb or a muscle up. I think of younger kids or college guys doing those movements; but I’m able to learn new tricks here!

What is it about Reverb that has helped you?

With CrossFit, I have everything I need all in the same place. Running, deadlifts, rope climbs – it’s all blended together and constantly varied. It saves me a lot of time and it’s more fun!

At Reverb it’s very easy to stay consistent because the schedule is gamified. We have our weekly streaks, we have our Relentless Club stickers, and we have accountability from each other!

We hit a workout together, and then Alex asks me if I’m coming for squats tomorrow. I’m more excited to come the next day because – you know – I gotta show him up!

What would you tell someone interested but scared to get started?

I would definitely tell anyone to check out Reverb! Don’t be scared because you can scale everything. 

Eventually you can learn the snatch or the rope climb, but even if you can’t do those movements yet, you can always start at your level and work your way up. Either way it’s going to be a great workout and a lot of fun!
