“The coaches prioritize technique, safety, and mobility before progressing to complex movements. That’s been really comforting to me as someone new to overhead and gymnastics movements.”
Kate is a former collegiate athlete who is having a blast learning the ways of CrossFit. She especially loves the coaching and the culture at Reverb!
Let’s hear it from her!
What were you doing for fitness before Reverb?
Before Reverb I was just doing my own workouts at the gym.
What was the problem you wanted to solve that made you want to join Reverb?
I was coming out of being a college athlete with structured training into a world full of different options; I was looking to get more structure back.
I have a few friends who really enjoyed CrossFit after college and I was interested in the blend of strength and conditioning.
What kind of changes have you seen?
I’ve only been here for 3 months and I’ve already gained a couple pounds of muscle and seen my stamina improve.
I’m now lifting weights for multiple reps, while fatigued, that I could only do 1 rep of before!
My habits and routines have improved a lot since joining as well.
How else has it impacted your personal life?
I now consistently start my day with a workout! I’m more dialed in on my nutrition as well.
I’ve felt improvements in my energy, my confidence, and my mental well being. I feel better about myself, which is more important than any PR in the gym.
What is it about Reverb that has helped you?
You’re surrounded by people every day who come in to better themselves and everyone around them. I absolutely love the community here at Reverb.
The coaching. I’m unfamiliar with a lot of the movements; the coaches prioritize technique, safety, and mobility before progressing to complex movements. That’s been really comforting to me as someone new to overhead and gymnastics movements.
What would you tell someone interested but scared to get started?
Lean into it being new and different! I was also intimidated to get started. Embrace the challenge; it’s going to be challenging and it’s also really rewarding, which pays off in the long run!
