“My kids say I’m their superhero. My grand-babies say ‘Wow, Grandma, I didn’t know you could do that!!’”
Matt and Lupe are our current leaders for consecutive weeks without missing a week – at over 100 weeks and counting!!
Let’s hear from them what keeps them coming back to CrossFit Reverb.
What were you doing for fitness before Reverb?
Matt: We were at another gym and we just needed a change – something different.
What was the problem you wanted to solve that made you want to join Reverb?
Lupe: Wanting to get more work and more results out of our 1 hour of training.
Matt: I wanted to focus more on intensity. Keeping the workout session on track, moving along, and getting the work done in a shorter period.
What kind of changes have you seen?
Lupe: I feel myself getting stronger. I’m able to challenge myself every day, every workout.
How else has it impacted your personal life?
Matt: We’re now telling people about CrossFit, against their will [haha]. I was at Lowe’s getting a 100lb bag of sand and I was able to just pick it up, throw it on my shoulder, and walk to the register. That was pretty cool!
Lupe: My kids say I’m their super hero. And my grandbabies say “Wow, Grandma, I didn’t know you could do that!” I feel good about it. They all want to be able to do it too!
What is it about Reverb that has helped you?
Lupe: Being 51 is hard, your body changes a lot. The nutrition challenge helped me understand a few changes I needed to make. It’s now working great for me.
Matt: Nutrition is now in the front of my mind, which is good. I’m drinking a lot more water than I used to!
What would you tell someone interested but scared to get started?
Lupe: I was a little nervous getting started. But you’ll get it, and you won’t regret it!
Matt: For people who are worried that it’ll be too difficult – there’s a number of different ways you can modify and mitigate that difficulty.
