Saturday Spotlight: Kim W!

Kim is off to an awesome start in her first 3 months at Reverb!

She’s down 17 pounds, and she’s feeling great.

Let’s hear about it from her:

What were you doing for fitness before Reverb?

I wasn’t doing a whole lot, I would cycle every once in a while on the peloton, do longer walks, hike every once in a while.  Pretty much wasn’t doing anything (haha).

What was the problem you wanted to solve that made you want to join Reverb?

I wanted to lose some fat, be able to move a little easier, and have some more energy to keep up with my little ones at home.

What kind of changes have you seen?

I’ve been here for 3 months now. I’m seeing a lot of my muscle tone coming back, losing weight, clothes are fitting better.  I’ve dropped a pants size so that was exciting! 

The movements are getting a lot easier for me. Some things I wasn’t able to do in the begging – box jumps or jump rope – I can now do and I’m stringing them along.

How else has it impacted your personal life?

I have a lot more energy. I now naturally get up super early. Before I was living on 2-3 energy drinks a day. I’ve cut that and now I don’t even need it because my energy is a lot higher.

I feel a lot more confident as well in my own skin and in my body. It helps a lot at work or around town because I’m not feeling like I need to hide or not do certain things because of the way I look or feel.

How has nutrition coaching helped?

The nutrition coaching has been really good because it’s kept me accountable. I know I’m meeting every week with my coach to review what’s going well and the latest plan. 

I wanted to make sure that if I’m working hard in the gym, I’m working equally hard at home in the kitchen making those adjustments so I can see all the results from my training sessions.

The nutrition has gotten a lot easier – the fast food and snacks available don’t bother me because I know what my options are. It’s been really easy this time vs previous times when I’ve tried to eat healthier.

What else about Reverb has helped you?

One of the biggest things that’s been helpful is all the coaches will check in with me. I’ll get texts outside the gym to see how I’m doing and how else they can help me out on my journey. 

The gym as a whole has been very accepting. Everyone is super great and nice, and when you come into class you get fist bumps, high fives, and you hear that you’re doing a great job. 

It makes you want to come more and be a part of the community and help others who are new to encourage them.  It’s especially helpful in the beginning when it can be difficult to stay consistent and motivated.

What would you tell someone interested but scared to get started?

I was a little nervous coming back in. But once you get in you’ll see how welcoming everyone is, how exciting it is.  After you’ve given everything you have in the workout, you’re still excited to come back again and keep improving week after week, month after month. 

Don’t be afraid, everyone’s super nice. Come in and you definitely won’t regret it; it will change your life.

Kim’s training includes a mix of personal training sessions and group classes.  

She also does nutrition coaching to maximize her results and make them sustainable by ingraining good nutrition habits into her life.

With her InBody body composition analysis, she knows that almost all the weight coming off is body fat, meaning she’s maintaining her muscle.  

This puts her on a healthy and sustainable glide path to her target weight and means she’ll be feeling great throughout her journey.

It also means Kim knows exactly what she needs to do for the next three months to keep the results coming: keep following the process outlined by her coach! (and enjoy the process while you’re at it!)
