Member Spotlight: Ari!

Ari

Ari just had her 3-month check-in.

She participated in our recent 6-week nutrition challenge and was the top winner in the results category!

It’s no wonder she’s loving what she’s seeing so far.

Let’s hear about it from her:

What were you doing for fitness before Reverb?

Before Reverb, I was super inconsistent. I wasn’t motivated to work out. Nothing was sticking for me. I was trying to force myself to do things I didn’t enjoy to stay active. Just trying to figure out what works for me and nothing was working.

How long have you been at Reverb and what kind of changes have you seen recently?

I’ve been coming to Reverb for 3 months and so far through the nutrition challenge I’ve lost 4% body fat, I’ve gained a ton of muscle, I feel stronger every day in the gym.  I feel myself really progressing and I’m getting back to where I was a couple years ago.  It’s super rewarding to come into the gym after 3 months and see some progress compared to day 1.

How else has it impacted your personal life?

CrossFit just gives me a lot of confidence. I come into the gym and want to socialize with these people, they’re very like minded people in here for the same goal and it’s just to feel better about themselves and to feel stronger and to feel healthier about yourself.  That has really helped me mentally. The gym is my happy place at the end of the work day, there’s always a smiling face when I walk in and I take that out of the gym too; at the store or at work I’m happier and more willing to socialize and engage.

What would you tell someone who is scared to get started?

A lot of my friends are scared to get started in CrossFit because they’re scared to lift weights.  As a woman it’s very empowering just to step in the door and see other women that are way stronger than you lift like a bad-ass. You can feel a sense of belonging here, and I would encourage anyone to just come and see this environment where everyone is cheering you on.  I think a lot of people would love it if they tried it. It might kick your butt but you can come back the next day and say let’s do that again.
