If you’re like most people, hours at a desk or behind the wheel can leave your hips tight, your back cranky, and your body feeling older than it should.
The good news? Just a few minutes of focused movement can reverse a lot of that stiffness — no equipment required.
Here are three simple mobility moves we teach in class that you can do anywhere:
1️⃣ Alternating Spiderman Stretch
This one targets your hips, groin, and mid-back — the areas that get the tightest from sitting.
- Start in a push-up position.
- Step your right foot up next to the outside of your right hand.
- Drop your hips slightly, open your chest, and rotate your right arm up toward the ceiling.
- Return to the push-up position and switch sides.
Do: 5–6 reps per side, moving slowly and breathing deeply.
💡 Tip: Think “smooth and controlled,” not forced or rushed.
A powerful combo for opening up your shoulders, hamstrings, and spine.
- From a push-up position, lift your hips high, pressing your heels toward the floor, and press your head through your shoulders toward your feet (Downward Dog).
- Slowly lower your hips to the ground, raise your chest and gaze forward and upward, squeezing your glutes (Cobra)
- Flow back and forth between the two for 6–8 reps.
Bonus: You’ll get a surprising core stretch and a gentle upper-body warm-up.
The ultimate “human movement reset.” This position opens the hips, ankles, and lower back.
- Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart.
- Sink into your lowest comfortable squat, keeping your heels down.
- Press your elbows into the inside of your knees and lift your chest tall.
Hold: 30–60 seconds, focusing on breathing and posture.
If balance is tough, hold onto a sturdy object for support.
Try This Mini Mobility Routine:
Do all three moves back-to-back for 2–3 rounds.
It takes less than 10 minutes and leaves your body feeling lighter, looser, and ready to move again.
At Reverb, we use these same movements to prep for squats, lifts, and real-life strength.
If you’ve been feeling stiff or hesitant to jump back in, start with these — and when you’re ready for more, we’ll help you take the next step safely.
