The last sentence of “Fitness in 100 words” by CrossFit creator Greg Glassman reads: “Regularly learn and play new sports.”
Learning a new sport presents the opportunity to apply hard-earned physical skills in a new and dynamic environment. It creates growth, exposes weaknesses, and prevents stagnation.
Hooverball is a game first created by President Hoover’s physician around 1928 where two teams of 3-5 players throw a medicine ball back and forth over a volleyball net. If you drop the ball, fail to return it back over the net, or throw it out of bounds you lose the point.
Sports require the athlete to combine and show mastery of all 10 physical skills: cardio-respiratory endurance, strength, stamina, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy – and Hooverball is no exception!
That’s why CrossFit Reverb is hosting a Hooverball tournament on Saturday May 18th at 8:30 AM! Sign up for some friendly, core-building competition, automatic entry into a prize raffle, and a chance to be immortalized on a prize banner with the winning team!
